Jobs is a 2013 biographical drama film based on the life of Steve Job between 1974 and 2001. Steve Jobs was played by Ashton Kutcher, while Apple Computer’s co-founder Steve Wozniak was portrayed by Josh Gad. It was directed by Joshua Michael Stern. It is not to be confused with the currently un-titled Steve Jobs film written by Aaron Sorkin, and based on the authorised biography written by Walter Isaacson. The film covers the years from just after Jobs dropped out of Reed College and ends in 1997 just after he his named CEO of Apple. There is also a scene at the beginning of the film set in 2001 where Jobs unveils the first iPod at an Apple Town Hall meeting. It was chosen to close the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in Sundance, Utah, in January 2013, and was released in cinemas later the same year in August. Jobs currently has a metacritic rating of 44/100, as well as 27% approval rating on movie review site Rotten Tomatoes.
