BioWare's New 'Live Service' IP Delayed Beyond March 2018

The brand-spanking new IP from BioWare has been pushed into Electronic Arts' next fiscal year, meaning it won't be out until at least we're past March 2018.

This new IP is an online affair though both BioWare and EA have been rather tight lipped about it. The only thing that has been revealed is that it's sci-fi and a little Destiny-esque in design but otherwise remains a mystery.

"We’re very pleased with the progress of our new action IP from BioWare," declared EA CEO Andrew Wilson during the recent conference call. "The design is stunning. Gameplay mechanics are excellent, and the action will be exhilarating. The game is built around a live service, and through our creative process, we decided to add more to the disruptive new social design for our players. To accommodate that, we are moving the launch date for this project into fiscal year ’19."

EA CFO Blake Jorgensen continued: "We want to further develop the live service component." It seems the more online social component of the game is to be expanded some more. This new IP was first glimpsed back at E3 2014 but development started in 2012.

The untitled new BioWare IP is now due beyond March 2018.
