Sleeping Dogs Movie Announced
A movie adaptation of United Front Games' excellent Sleeping Dogs is now official and it's set to star actor Donnie Yen as the lead, filling the role of Wei Shen.
The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and xXx: Return of Xander Cage actor knows a thing or two about martial arts and roughing up the bad guys. It's long been the plan to take Sleeping Dogs to the silver screen but it seemed to never get anywhere. Unfortunately the game's developer has since closed down.
Sleeping Dogs the game is set in contemporary Hong Kong where Wei Shen goes undercover in the Triad organisation Sun On Yee. He's tasked with trying to get to the head of the gang, David Wai-Lin "Uncle" Po. Shen struggles to maintain a balance between being a police officer and a rising Triad. It's unclear whether the movie will follow the same plot but it's likely given how well the game was received for its rich story and open-world action.
Sleeping Dogs currently has no set date for release.
