Paul Bettany Joins the Cast of the Han Solo Movie
Ron Howard has enlisted an old cohort to help reshape the Han Solo spin off movie -- Paul Bettany is heading to the outer rim.
Howard took to Twitter to announced that Bettany would be joining the cast. Quite who he’ll be playing is anyone’s guess but if someone did twist our arm we’d say Bettany, who has worked with Howard on A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code, will serve as a more than adequate replacement for Michael K. Williams, who departed the project citing scheduling conflicts with the ongoing reshoots. What’s interesting is that he appears to be wearing a space age costume, which seems to contradict Williams description of the character as part human, part animal – which implies some form of CGI or motion capture. Perhaps there’s more than meets the eye here.
The film still features Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Donald Glover, among others and despite some problems on the directorial front – Howard replaced Phil Lord and Chris Miller – it's remains on target for a 25 May, 2018 release.
