Nick Fury himself Samuel L. Jackson may have just let slip a major detail concerning a fan favourite villain in Marvel’s upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

In a video primarily discussing Kong: Skull Island, Samuel L. Jackson once again confirmed that he won’t be making an appearance in Black Panther, before seeing to confirm the return of a villain we’ve not seen since 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger.

He said:

"You didn’t see me in [Captain America:] Civil War," Jackson said. "I’m still out there trying to figure out what The Skull is going to..."

Could the Red Skull be about to make a return? While he could have misspoken, it does sound like HYDRA’s finest could be about to return from where he vanished into while attempting to wield the Tesseractbut the Red Skull coming back in Avengers: Infinity War could work.

In the past, Hugo Weaving has made it clear he won’t be returning to the role but that doesn’t mean we won’t see the Red Skull return in Marvel Phase 3.
