Last year’s Hell or High Water was one of last year’s best movies, featuring on many top ten lists and nabbing four Oscar nominations as it stunned audiences with its compelling story and hard hitting action.

Needless to say, we loved it. So, it’s good news all round that the team behind it, Director David Mackenzie and actors Ben Foster and Chris Pine, are rumoured to be reuniting for Outlaw King.

Deadline reports that Netflix are currently working on a deal to back an ambitious period drama that will look to tell a new take on the real-life story of Robert The Bruce.

Mackenzie is looking to restore some of the King’s dignity after unfavourable portrayals in the like of Braveheart – and then there’s the very topical story of a Scotland fighting for its independence from the oppressive rule of the English.

Mackenzie wrote the script, and has Pine ready to play the king, with Foster in talks to be James Douglas, a Scottish knight who ends up becoming one of his chief advisors.

All going well, Mackenzie should be shooting this one during August in Scotland.
