Patty Jenkins Returns to Direct Wonder Woman 2
Patty Jenkins is set to officially return to direct Wonder Woman 2.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, after a long and protracted set of negotiations, Jenkins has signed up to co-write, produce, and direct the follow up to the original movie which has grossed over $402 million domestically and has topped the $800 million mark worldwide.
The deal makes Jenkins the highest-paid female filmmaker in history. Sources say Jenkins will receive directing and writing fees in the high seven figures thought to be somewhere in the $7 to $9 million range on Wonder Woman 2 but, more significantly, she will have a considerable backend deal too.
The deal represents a seismic leap for Jenkins who was paid $1 million for directing the original movie – bringing her fee in line with Zack Snyder’s pay for Man of Steel.
Gal Gadot is already attached to return as Wonder Woman, the follow-up, which Warner Bros. has dated for Dec. 13, 2019.
