Empyre: Lords Of The Sea Gates Announced For PC

A classic RPG set in an alternate New York circa 1911 is coming to PC this fall with Coin Operated Games' Neo-Victorian themed Empyre: Lords of the Sea Gates.

Poor New York has suffered terribly as the sea levels have rose and flooded much of the city which has endangered the lives of everyone as drinking water is now a rare resource. We journey to find a fresh source of water.

“One of the things we strove for when designing Empyre is authenticity during an ‘Age of Technical Wonder’ in the United States, the Gilded Age,” said John Randall of Coin Operated, and Creative Director of Empyre. “For example, the New York City we all know is the city in this game, and history buffs will recognize many iconic locations that existed in the city during the 1910s, but with a unique, waterlogged twist. People and society exist and act as they did in the early 20th Century. We feel this level of detail will give players a one-of-a-kind experience that they haven’t seen anywhere before.”

It uses a hybrid real-time/turn-based combat RPG with a top-down isometric view where we plan out our attacks and then hope our party has the mutton-chops for the job as all characters act out simultaneously.

Empyre: Lords of the Sea Gates releases on in Fall 2017.
