Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked Getting Nautical On PlayStation 4 This Spring, "Looking In To" Vita
Capybara Games has been at the helm of Klei Entertainment's Don’t Starve series and they're ready to go full sail with the Shipwrecked expansion into console waters.
Shipwrecked is all about taking your insane-odds-of-survival and dunking them in the big blue wobbly with all-new threats, adventures and chances for treasure. PC fans of the series have enjoyed the expansion since the beginning of December 2015, but now PlayStation 4 survivalists can get in on the pirate lifestyle.
"Hop in a sailboat and chart new corners of the mysterious archipelago, paddle a raft through the crashing waves and shout “Land Ho!” when you spot a newly discovered jungle island, find treasure maps that lead to buried riches, or fire cannons at pursuing sea monsters or schools of surface-slicing fins. To us, the rich mythos of shipwreck and pirate castaway lore was a perfect fit for Don’t Starve’s survival gameplay, and the expansion into seafaring offers a new set of challenges to established players."
What's more the studios are actually looking into maybe, just maybe, bringing Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked to the PlayStation Vita. The original game from Klei Entertainment released on Vita back in September 2014.
"We’re looking in to it, but we’re not sure what’s possible yet. If we end up being able to bring Shipwrecked over to Vita we’ll let everyone know," said Klei's Corey Rollins on the US PlayStation.Blog.
Don't Starve: Shipwrecked is also coming to Xbox One this spring with no concrete date just yet, but it's likely not too far from the PlayStation 4 launch.
Klei Entertainment is also officially launching their multiplayer co-op version of the game - Don't Starve Together - next week on April 21st as it leaves Early Access, which also comes to the PlayStation 4 at some point in 2016.
