US Movie Releases to Look Out For in November
Remember, remember, the films of November! It’s the time of year when the nights draw in, the year winds down and studios line up their most prestigious, family friendly, and action-heavy movies for a jam-packed month of US releases.
On November 6th James Bond will return in Spectre – the eagerly awaited follow-up to the Academy Award winning Skyfall – which also sees the return of the nefarious, shadowy organisation that take special pleasure in being the authors of all James’ pain.
Someone else dealing with a whole lot of grief is Charlie Brown and his loyal companion Snoopy as the whole Peanuts gang finally arrive on the big screen, in Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie.
If you’re after a bit of drama that lifts the lid on the dark side of the entertainment business, why not let Trumbo be your guide as we follow Bryan Cranston as Dalton Trumbo, Hollywood's top screenwriter during the 40s, until he and his fellow artists were jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs.
November 13th sees Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie star in the 70’s set, By the Sea, a sombre look at a couple coming to terms with their dysfunctional marriage on a getaway to France.
Some people couldn’t get away even if they tried are the 33 Chilean miners who, while working on gold and copper mines, were buried underground for 69 days, in the based on real life tale, The 33, featuring James Brolin and Cote de Pablo.
November 20th sees the end of an era as The Hunger Games draw to a conclusion in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2. Get hankies at the ready, this revolution is going to get emotional.
However, if you’re in the mood for some Yuletide fun in the bad taste vein, why not don your most festive jumper and remember the true spirit(s) of Christmas, or something, in The Night Before and join the holy grail of Christmas parties with Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Geezar! How’s about some rough diamonds, wheeling and dealing in the bloody world of East End gangsters as the larger than life tale of The Kray twins is brought back kicking and screaming onto the big screen in Legend, featuring Tom Hardy and, well, Tom Hardy as Ronnie and Reggie Kray. Watch it sunshine!
And finally, November 27th sees Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur shake prejudices and melt hearts, Ryan Coogler’s Creed bring Rocky back into the limelight as he trains the wayward son of his former foe turned trainer, Apollo Creed, James McAvoy assemble something wicked in Victor Frankenstein and Eddie Redmayne break down social barriers in the remarkable love story between Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener as they navigate Lili's ground-breaking journey as a transgender pioneer in The Danish Girl.
