Judy Greer Joins Halloween Cast As Laurie Strode's Daughter

Arrested Development star Judy Greer is in talks to star in the Halloween franchise as Karen, the daughter of Jamie Lee Curtis’s Laurie Strode.

Following on from the news that Jamie Lee Curtis would return to the iconic horror franchise, which is now getting a sequel/reboot courtesy of David Gordon Green and Danny McBride, Greer is in talks to play the Laurie Strode’s daughter – keeping the victims of Michael Myers very much in family.

The film, which is being shepherded by Blumhouse Productions, will also benefit from the key input of another franchise returnee, original Halloween director and writer John Carpenter, who has been very hands on with the new film – which will ignore all the sequels that took place after Rick Rosenthal’s 1981 film, Halloween II.

Blumhouse Productions founder Jason Blum said that they don’t make any big creative decisions with Carpenter’s say-so.

“We don’t take any big steps without his approval, so, for instance, hiring David and Danny he approved. He approved their pitch, he approved their first script. He approved bringing back Jamie Lee Curtis. So anytime we make a big creative turn he’s involved with that and we don’t do it without his blessing.”

The untitled Halloween sequel begins shooting in South Carolina in a few weeks and will finally hit theatres next October.
