Transformers Spin Off Bumblebee Hires Kubo and the Two Strings Director
Paramount have hired Kubo and the Two Strings director Travis Knight to helm the Transformers spin off film, Bumblebee.
The studio had been chasing a director with an animation background and had held discussions with The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay before deciding on Knight. The director beat out Seth Gordon (Baywatch), the Nee Brothers (Band of Robbers), and Jaume Collet-Sera (The Shallows) to helm the spin off which will be Knights first live action movie.
There are no plot details as of yet but Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are producing the movie, with Christina Hudson writing the script.
Bumblebee is slated for June 8, 2018.
