The First Teaser Trailer For Stephen King's It

Those of you suffering from coulrophobia might want to look away now. The first teaser for the new film based on Stephen King's It has crept in and it’s terrifying.

The new adaptation, directed by Andrés Muschietti – which faces comparisons with the cult 1990 TV adaptation staring Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown -  kicks off in the 1980s, shifting the original book's '50s setting. In the seemingly quiet town of Derry, Maine, some dark secret hides in plain sight; the adults and children seem to disappear and die at an alarming rate.

It’ll take a group of kids known as the Losers' Club, which consists of Bill (Jaeden Lieberher), Ben (Jeremy Ray Taylor), Beverly (Sophia Lillis), Richie (Finn Wolfhard), Stanley (Wyatt Oleff), Mike (Chosen Jacobs), Eddie (Jack Dylan Grazer) and Henry (Nicolas Hamilton), to not only juggle growing pains and school age angst, but also true horror in the form of Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard), who has a 30-year cycle of haunting the town from the sewers and beyond.

The film is the first of two planned adaptations focusing on separate parts of the book. The second part will focus on the Losers’ Club when they’ve grown up and forgotten the terror that haunted the sewers all those years ago.

It is set to be released on 8 September.
