Jessica Jones is coming back to our streaming-device-of-choice with a second season, confirms Netflix. It's no one-hit-wonder as the private detective with a penchant for a super-powered beat down is to return for another 13-episode season.

While there's no word on a premier date for Jessica Jones' return Netflix did at least confirm the episode count. Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg says they'll explore more of Jessica in the show who is a 'damaged character' with her troubles going beyond Kilgrave, played by David Tennant. The superhero had a short crime fighting career and instead became a PI, which means a lot more bar fights.

"I think I just want to continue with her character. She's a very damaged character and her damage goes beyond Kilgrave [David Tennant]. There's a lot to mine from in her backstory and in her present day situation. I think we'll find something," said Rosenberg. "I will always use as much as I possibly can from the comic book."

"The Marvel Cinematic Universe is very different in terms of its mythology. In the books, everyone knows superheroes are walking around, there's a lot of things building toward Secret Wars. We're probably not going to be able to do a totally parallel storylines. But I take every little piece I can because it's so good."

Netflix's next Marvel instalment is Daredevil season 2 beginning this March 18th, 2016.
