Fast & Furious 9 Delayed Until 2020

Fast and Furious 9 or Fast 9 or Fa9t Fu9ious or whatever it eventually ends up being called has been delayed until 2020.

Hitting the skids on the usually fast-paced, hard accelerating series, the next instalment has been pushed back by a whole year to April 2020 with no explanation given by Universal. Given that there’s no details about the ninth instalment yet means that nothing has been really been lost in the gear change but, given that the tenth instalment is due in 2021, either means both movies will be shot back to back or that too will be pushed back.

The most recent entry, The Fate Of The Furious or Fast and Furious 8 depending on where you are in the world, earned $1.2 billion following its release this year, so you know the studio is still committed to the series – plus, the ninth part will also form the middle section of a proposed trilogy of Fast movies, so they’re unlikely to abandon it just yet.

Universal appear to be opening that Easter Weekend slot by also moving animation sequel Trolls 2 (not to be confused with Troll 2), which features the voices of Justin Timberlake and Anne Kendrick, which is now scheduled for Valentine's Day 2020.
