The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass Announced
Nintendo are planning to expand the open world of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild through an Expansion Pass offering DLC due later in 2017.
This will be the first time Nintendo pursue a DLC expansion for The Legend of Zelda. When the fantasy RPG action adventure launches in early March for Nintendo Switch and Wii U, an Expansion Pass will also be on offer.
The pass is priced at £17.99 / €19.99 and includes a bonus of three treasure chests dropping in the Great Plateau starting area in the game. Apparently there's a bit of Nintendo Switch merch for Link to proudly wear. The first DLC will be coming this Summer and will introduce a new Cave of Trials challenge, a new hard mode and a new feature for the in-game map.
The second DLC pack seems to be meatier and features all-new story content, a new dungeon and additional challenges. All Nintendo have announced thus far - by way of a new Expansion Pass trailer - are rather broad and vague promises of new stuff to play with later.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild releases on Nintendo Switch and Wii U March 3rd, 2017.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - DLC Pack 1 is due Summer 2017, and DLC Pack 2 Winter 2017.
