Charlize Theron Ventures Into Dark Places In New Trailer

Gillian Flynn appears to be author of the moment in Hollywood, Gone Girl proved to be a hit for fans and critics alike. Perhaps hoping to capitalise on that success is Dark Places, an adaptation of Flynn's second novel.

The movie follows Libby, played by Charlize Theron (A Million Ways to Die in the West), the sole survivor of her family's massacre thirty years ago. Libby accuses her brother of the crime, played by Corey Stoll (The Strain), and he is convicted and sentenced to life in prison. When an amateur group of sleuths led by Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past) contact her, however, she is given cause to doubt what she believed happened.

Dark Places co-stars Chloe Grace Moretz (The Equalizer) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) and is directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner. It is due out September 1 in the US and October 30 in the UK. Check out the international trailer below:
