Thor: Ragnarok Builds Directly into Infinity War

Thor: Ragnarok will not only complete a trilogy of Thor movies but also usher in the events of Marvel’s Infinity War two-header, according to Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige.

While promoting Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Feige let slip that the end of phase three, the 22-movie arc that concludes with the events of the infinity war, would be ushered in by the way Thor ‘dramatically’ changes the landscape.

Speaking to the Toronto Sun, Feige said: “I think that we are finding ourselves as we complete Phase 3 and finish this 22-movie narrative that it’s working out that way. We did three Iron Man films, three Captain America films, three Thor films. Things change drastically in Ragnarok and then build directly into Infinity War.”

As for Thor: Ragnarok’s plot points we know that Hela destroys Asgard and Thor fights The Hulk — but there are many ways in which Thor could build up the events for Infinity War. There’s the small matter of the missing Infinity Stone, which Thor himself Chris Hemsworth has said will be revealed soon – which we assume means during the events of Ragnarok, and that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange is due to appear, and, as a key piece in the battle against Thanos, played by Josh Brolin, Thor could recruit him for the Avengers during Ragnarok. Whether any of these events come to fruition, we’ll just have to wait until the Infinity War begins…

Thor: Ragnorak is due to thunder into cinemas on November 3rd 2017.
