First Ghost in the Shell Teasers Emerge
Teasers for trailers are nothing new but one that requires some assembly? That’s the first teaser for the live action adaptation of cult manga, Ghost in the Shell, which comes in five tantalising clips.
Based on the manga originated by Masamune Shirow, Johansson’s character is a special ops cyborg and head of an elite task force known as Section 9. The team, working for Hanka Robotics, is in charge of stopping dangerous criminals and extremists, and their prime target is the most dangerous man of them all, The Laughing Man, a terrorist dedicated to wiping out all of Hanka’s cyber technology.
Pilou Asbæk is Batou, the second best fighter in the section and Johansson’s trusted lieutenant, with Juliette Binoche, 'Beat' Takeshi Kitano, Michael Pitt and Kaori Momoi also appearing. The members of Section 9 are played by Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara and Tuwanda Manyimo, who, if rumours and the ongoing controversy are to be believed were cast to assuage the fear that cast would be populated by westerners.
You can check out all five clips of Scarlett Johansson in action in these clips.
The movie is out on March 31st 2017.
