City Of Brass Announced For PC And Consoles

Former BioShock and Freedom Force developers have just announced City of Brass at their new studio, Uppercut Games. It's coming to PC and consoles this fall.

It's a first-person action game with roguelite properties where, as a cunning thief, we must get to the heart of the Arabian Nights-flavoured city that's inhabited by ghoulish terrors and deadly traps using a whip and scimitar.

You'll use the whip to disarm, grab and even stun enemies with your scimitar there to deliver a (hopefully) final blow, but you can always use the city's traps against them. The whip aids you getting around levels too.

Not everything supernatural is there to kill you as genies also offer items in exchange for treasure. For extra challenge City of Brass also supports 'Divine Burdens' that apply gameplay modifiers to adjust enemy behaviour or the environment.

"Assume the role of a cunning thief, battling to reach a fabled treasure at the city’s heart, wielding a blade and whip that can be used to disarm, trip or stun enemies, to swing to safety, grab inaccessible objects or even break through flimsy barricades. Leap across pits, slide under blades, dodge spears, and sidestep poison gas traps – all the while manipulating hazards to your advantage against diverse spirit foes."

City of Brass releases on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Fall 2017.
