The Good Dinosaur: First Trailer

It's a cuteness overload as the first trailer for Pixar's pre - historic Fox and the Hound alike, The Good Dinosaur.

The film poses the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?

Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa; “The Night Shift,” “Rizzoli & Isles”) makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

The voice cast also includes Jeffrey Wright (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay), Steve Zahn (Saving Silverman), AJ Buckley (Murder in the First), Anna Paquin (X-Men), Sam Elliot (The Big Lebowski) and Frances McDormand (Fargo).

Director Peter Sohn is just the latest Pixar helmer who cut his teeth directories short films, namely the very impressive Partly Cloudy. He has worked in the art, story and animation departments, and also has voiced the characters of Emile from Academy Award- winning Ratatouille.

That film has some parallel with The Good Dinosaur - both had difficulties during production - Ratatouille had a quick change of director while The Good Dinosaur recently recast some of its stars. However the early signs are encouraging.

Here's hoping lightning strikes twice.
