Destiny 2 Midnight Console Launch, Available Now For Some

Activision and Bungie's awaited Destiny 2 will be launching officially at midnight regionally, meaning Australia would be the first to jump onto the servers.

However this staggered launch for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 has already been broken by console gamers if they happen to own the game physically on disc. The midnight launch is for pre-loaded digital copies of Destiny 2.

"Destiny is designed to bring players together, and we are humbled to be part of the communities who breathe life into our worlds. For us, it’s all about the stories, memories, and friendships that are made when people come together," said Bungie CEO, Pete Parsons. "Destiny 2 represents the spirit, passion, and energy of an incredible team of world builders here at Bungie, and its launch is the culmination of years of partnership with Activision to bring this game to millions of players all around the world."

Those who shunned the digital option can jump onto the servers which are already live, meaning the midnight date is purely arbitrary. Of course even those forced to wait until midnight tonight are doing better than PC gamers who must wait much longer until late October.

Destiny 2 releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 September 6th, 2017 at midnight tonight, or if you have a disc it's playable now, and on PC October 24th.
