EA Faces Opposition From Ubisoft for 'Ghost' Trademark
Last month, Electronic Arts received notice that their trademark application for Unravel had been declined due to its similarity to a board game named "Beary's Unravel Game". Now, the publisher is facing opposition from Ubisoft as it attempts to trademark "Ghost".
A notice of opposition has been filed by Ubisoft with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on the grounds that this trademark might cause confusion with their long-standing Ghost Recon series. EA appear to have filed for this trademark in regards to their studio; Ghost Games, developer of Need for Speed.
Electronic Arts has until the 29th of March to respond to the notice before court proceedings take place.
