May 2015 was a solid month for game Releases, but when it came down to deciding which title deserves the award for best Release of the Month, it ended up being a battle between a new colorful shooter and a long-anticipated sequel...

Here are the results...

Release of the Month: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Honestly, it was an easy choice giving the honor to The Witcher 3. Arguably one of the best games of the year so far, CD Projekt RED has crafted a vast and stunning universe that we've been playing since launch day, and still have not seen all there is to explore. What a fantastic ending to the trilogy. Geralt of Rivia has ended this journey on a high note.

Runner-Up: Splatoon

We'd be lying if we said we weren't addicted to Splatoon. Nintendo's newest IP brought us fast-paced fun and new life into the shooter genre. It's vibrant and colorful on so many levels, that we'll be playing it for months to come... We can only hope we see more Splatoon in the future.

Honorable Mentions:

                                                      Galactic Civilizations III

We've built our empire, dominated the galaxy, and had a heck of a blast doing so. Galactic Civilizations III is an innovative sequel, addictive, time-consuming, and rewarding. Strategy fans will stay occupied.

Shin Megamami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 - Record Breaker

It turns out we're suckers for anything from Atlus. Devil Survivor 2, with all its content, features, and two campaigns, is a perfect example of how to port a game. Both fans of the original and newcomers as well should experience this fantastic follow-up.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition

Whether you're a fan of the Lord of the Rings or not, if you have yet to experience the action and engaging storyline found in Shadow of Mordor, the release of the Game of the Year Edition is the perfect way to experience one of the best games of 2014.
