Men In Black Spin-Off Ditches Jump Street Crossover
Since the release of Men in Black 3, there have been rumours swirling of a possible mash-up between the MIB and the Jump Street franchise – much like the parody trailers at the end of 22 Jump Street.
The latter unfortunately now appears to have been abandoned with the new MIB moving forward as just a reboot with a new cast. Now the movie as it stands has a release date – 17 May, 2019.
Anyway, the fourth instalment of the MIB franchise will be written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who have penned the likes of Iron Man and Punisher: War Zone. Exactly what the movie will be about remains to be seen but, it will probably feature a cameo from the old guard of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones (well, maybe Smith more than Jones) if the money is alright.
They'll all have to work hard to make us forget just how awesome a MIB/Jump Street mash-up would have been.
Coincidentally, that release date puts the new MIB movie in direct competition with both John Wick 3 and Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin, which features one Will Smith in the role of the Genie.
