Frontier Developments has narrowed down the release window for Elite: Dangerous coming to the PlayStation 4 and confirms PS4 Pro support.

Arriving in the first half of 2017, Elite: Dangerous for the PS4 will include the base game and everything released to-date in the Horizons season. This translates to being able to land on the surface of planets and smaller chunks of floating space rock and use the buggy.

Not only is it coming to PlayStation 4 but it will also support PlayStation 4 Pro, however the advantages of the Pro release hasn't be divulged yet but expect a better time with PlayStation VR at least, although it's yet to be officially announced as being supported.

"We're thrilled to bring Elite Dangerous to PlayStation 4," Frontier boss David Braben said, "with a rich multiplayer or single-player space, a true-to-life galaxy including our own entire night sky, real physics, unique ship handling characteristics and a player-driven narrative that's really heating up. The galaxy has been stable for centuries, but all that is about to change. PlayStation 4 players will be joining our galaxy at a very exciting time."

Elite: Dangerous releases on PlayStation 4 in Q2 2017, having released on PC and Xbox One already.
