Oddworld Inhabitants Has PlayStation 4 Pro Hardware, Oddworld: Soulstorm 'Perfect Fit'
Officially the new Oddworld: Soulstorm from creators Oddworld Inhabitants and their Canadian chums Frima Studio doesn't have any set platforms yet.
Considering its launch date isn't until late next year it's not that surprising there's no official platforms. However the studios have just gushed all over the new PlayStation 4 Pro hardware they have in the office, and how it "complements our design ethos" for Soulstorm.
Sounds like some one might be taking the fight to this new menace using a DualShock controller of some type, eh?
"To us, PS4 Pro represents a new shift in the way PlayStation are thinking about the console cycle, and we think it’s a hugely exciting time for the industry. PS4 Pro complements our design ethos for Oddworld: Soulstorm, allowing the ability to turn up the dials on visual fidelity, lighting and physically based rendering."
The new Soulstorm takes place after Abe manages to free his fellow Mudokons - around 300 of them - from the sinister Molluck The Glukkon, former boss of RuptureFarms. The problem is there are now an awful lot of mouths to feed. "Stranded alone in the desert, they find solace in a strange new brew - a delicious drink that has insidious ramifications for their newfound freedom."
"There was a deeper, darker, and more sinister story that we never got to tell," explains Oddworld creator, Lorne Lanning. "Soulstorm gives us the opportunity to flesh out more meat on the bones of an original spine, but re-tell the fable from a very different angle."
"Abe has a long way to go and plenty more adversity ahead. Soulstorm is going to be a much heavier trip for him."
Oddworld: Soulstorm releases in late 2017. It's most likely coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the fancier PlayStation 4 Pro.
