Netflix's The Defenders Will Run to Eight Episodes
The Netflix arm of the Marvel universe continues to grow with the culmination of all their individual series, The Defenders, which we now know will run to eight episodes in 2017.
What’s more, we also now know that the first two of those eight episodes will be directed by S.J. Clarkson, veteran of two Jessica Jones episodes (Crush Syndrome and Ladies Night) as Cage, Jones, Daredevil and Iron Fist team up to keep New York free from evil.
"It's not who's the big bad or how are their powers going to work or what's the action sequence that we're going to figure out,” explains Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb of the assembled superheroes. "It’s these are four people who have very different ways of looking at their lives. Now let's put them together and see what happens."
However, before their epic team up, there’s the small matter of Iron Fist’s solo series. That’s scheduled to launch on 17 March, 2017.
The Defenders will be made available for streaming from Netflix during 2017.
