Rumour: Grand Theft Auto V For Nintendo Switch
With the news that L.A. Noire is getting dusted off by Rockstar Games to re-release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch - will GTA 5 also hit Switch?
Before the announcement became official a NeoGAF user spilled the beans that Rockstar was bringing the crime caper to Nintendo's latest platform. Now they've teasingly said to have 'patience' for a possible reveal that Grand Theft Auto will follow suit.
Rockstar also announced L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for PC using virtual reality headgear from HTC, with Oculus Rift support presumed later. The spotlight right now from the secretive developer is on Red Dead Redemption 2, a sequel to their hit action adventure set in frontier times in America on the border with Mexico.
NeoGAF user Vern, who claims to have an insider source, says there's no clear indication what the 'other' announcement for Switch from Rockstar will be with any certainty, only that it 'shouldn't surprise'. It's here he believes it could likely be GTA, but then jokes it could be Table Tennis.
The studio does have a habit of revisiting older releases and giving them a makeover to arrive on newer platforms, with Grand Theft Auto V itself undergoing a major upgrade as it leaped from Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and finally PC. Could Rockstar bring Micheal, Trevor and Franklin to Switch?
