Shane Black’s darkly comic crime caper, The Nice Guys is being turned into a TV series.

Variety reports Nice Guys producer Joel Silver, will adapt the film into a contemporary female-led drama for Fox.

Silver will executive produce along with Ken Kao, Rodney Ferrell, and Michael Diliberti, who will also write the series.

The show will be a co-production between Lionsgate, 20th Century Fox Television, and Silver Pictures Television.

The network has ordered a script from Silver Pictures Television with substantial penalty attached. It’s the third movie adaptation that Silver and Fox have been involved in, with Silver producing the Lethal Weapon series and Fox working on the TV series of True Lies.

The Nice Guys was released in 2016 and stars Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe as bumbling private eyes who get caught up in the mysterious disappearance of a young woman named Amelia (Margaret Qualley).

So far, there’s no release date planned for The Nice Gals which it probably won’t be called.
