It looks like Mr. Incredible and his family are about to don the red spandex once more. Brad Bird told Collider that his next film will be a sequel to 2004’s Pixar hit, The Incredibles.

What’s more, Bird has already written ‘a bunch of pages’ for the films script: "I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like," Bird said. "I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit, and there wasn't enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie."

Once the May 22nd release date has passed on his latest film, Tomorrowland, Bird will start "playing with the Incredibles sandbox again."

The Iron Giant and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol director also revealed that he has talked to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy about the possibility of directing one of the Star Wars films: “I was particularly attracted to the idea of picking up [a film in the franchise], and J.J. [Abrams] got very excited about the notion of shaping the next trilogy, and that idea was interesting to me too," Bird said. "But I'm writing [the Incredibles sequel], and I can't think too much farther beyond that. I have other things I want to do as well."
