Crackdown 3 Release Date Delayed To Spring 2018
Making a mess of an urban sprawl in the name of justice will now wait until Spring 2018 as Crackdown 3 gets pushed back for Xbox One and PC.
Reagent Games, Sumo Digital and Cloudgine are getting extra time for polish, Microsoft tells Polygon. The highly destructive world of Crackdown was due to return this November with it coming to PC via Xbox Play Anywhere.
“We’re very excited about Crackdown 3, and so are many fans, and so it’s a difficult call to move the release date,” Shannon Loftis of Microsoft Studios Publishing said in an email. “However, we want to make sure to deliver the right game, with the right quality, and at the right time."
"Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018.”
"We want them to really feel the larger-than life enemies as they're exploring the expansive open world, combating crime, and collecting orbs," added the general manager. The terror that is a city covered in mysterious orbs won't be vanquished now until early next year. The development team is rather ambitious with Crackdown 3 as they boast online co-op can leverage cloud servers for extra destruction.
Crackdown 3 releases on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC in Spring 2018.
