Rockstar Games is re-releasing L.A. Noire for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with enhanced visuals, on Switch with Joycon support and The VR Case Files for PC.

The seedy underbelly of 1940s Los Angeles is making a return with L.A.P.D. detective Cole Phelps on the case. The Nintendo Switch release will feature the original game with all DLC content as well as Switch specific support such as Joy-Con mode with gyroscopic, gesture-based controls. It also enjoys a new wider over-the-shoulder camera and contextual touch screen controls.

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 re-releases will get enhanced visuals through technical advances such as better lighting and clouds, new cinematic camera angles, higher texture resolutions with native 1080p for standard Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles and 4K support for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro.

“We’re excited to bring L.A. Noire’s unique mix of real detective work, classic Hollywood atmosphere and thrilling action to these new platforms,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “Now with a choice of spectacular virtual reality, stunning 4K, or the freedom of portable play, these enhanced versions are a perfect opportunity for players to experience this richly detailed world in a whole new way."

The VR Case Files recreate seven of the cases from the original L.A. Noire but have been built for a virtual reality experience that, at launch, is exclusively supported by HTC Vive on PC. This will include the examination of crime scenes, interviewing witnesses and suspects, driving, exploration and shootouts.
