Report: CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 'Aiming For Late 2016'

According to a report on Gamereactor Germany, CD Projekt RED is in fact aiming for their Cyberpunk 2077 RPG to be completed and ready for launch late next year. This seems at odds with previous teases that 2017 was when we'd be hearing all about it.

The unnamed source says they've seriously kicked production into high gear which isn't that surprising when you take into account that Cyberpunk 2077 is meant to be bigger than The Witcher 3, and that's not even finished yet as expansions are on the way. Currently it's only being developed for PC but consoles are likely with a possible exclusivity deal, claims the source.

The ambitious Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced back in 2012 with the running joke it would be finally out the studio's door the same year as its name. This 'late 2016' release window is not likely to hold much creditability seeing as how the The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is due Q2 2016. It's far more likely Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming in the later half of 2017.
