NetherRealm's Ed Boon Teases Likely PC Release For Mortal Kombat XL

In a totally cryptic message that took supercomputers to crack, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has teased an almost certain launch of Mortal Kombat XL for PC.

"Maybe we should Karry eXtra Long People who Care?" Ed Boon recently tweeted.

Extracting the capitalised letters gives us MKXLPC, which naturally is either the formula to deduce the meaning of life, or slightly more likely: Mortal Kombat XL PC.

This isn't to be confused with Mortal Kombat XI, which would be the 11th major instalment in the series. No, we are talking about 'XL' which is actually a complete edition for Mortal Kombat X that includes all the released DLC in one mega package, with better netcode.

Mortal Kombat XL released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 back in January this year but the PC has remained with just the standard version and its avalanche of pricey DLC. It was originally going to come to PC but suffered a cancellation, or so we thought.

This recent tweet from Ed Boon followed a poll asking if PC fans wanted the XL package. Snoops of SteamDB reveal an entry was renamed to 'MKXL Enhanced Online Beta' not too long ago and has seen a flurry of updates.

Mortal Kombat XL looks set to release on PC sometime by the end of 2016.
