And for their next trick…turning three movies into five as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them becomes its own multi-million-dollar franchise to rival its parent Harry Potter franchise.

In what is not likely a huge shock to fans, the announcement came J.K Rowling was speaking at an event for the film held in London and streamed live globally, including a Facebook Q&A with director David Yates and some of the actors. Rowling confirmed that she has figured out the stories for all five and will be the screenwriter for the foreseeable future.

Those at the screening were also treated to the opening 10 minutes of the film which sees Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander coming to New York in the 1920s and, thanks to a mishap with his magical case, accidentally unleashing a horde of creatures upon the city. Which other than being a massive inconvenience, could also throw the uneasy relationship between those with magic abilities and the "No-Maj", or Muggles of the day into an untenable war.

Director David Yates also confirmed that the recent reference to Hogwarts headmaster Dumbledore was no fluke and that he’ll feature in a ‘wonderful’ scene between Eddie Redmayne and Colin Farrell.

There was also confirmation that bad wizard Grindelwald will feature in future movies.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be out on 18 November.
