Natalie Portman will star in this adaptation of Aerosmith’s Janie’s Got a Gun – the bands attempt to tackle the gun control…oh, wait. It’s a western called Jane Got a Gun. So it’s not an adaptation of a song?

Having survived a torrid production process and troubled development, the film finally lands in cinemas with Portman’s Jane, a gun-toting prairie homesteader, trying to make a living on the tough New Mexico plains. But when her deadbeat husband Bill (Noah Emmerich) is double-crossed by his gang, she knows that the merciless mercenaries will be on their way to her home to finish the job. With a young daughter and a livelihood to protect, she realises that even her own abilities with a weapon might not be enough to hold off the hoodlums led by John Bishop (Ewan McGregor), so she recruits her old flame Dan Frost (Joel Edgerton) to help her defend the place.

Also staring Rodrigo Santoro, Boyd Holbrook, Todd Stashwick and Nash Edgerton and Gavin O’Connor in the director’s chair, Jane Got A Gun will arrive in the States on January 29 and should be out here shortly after that.
