Commissioner Gordon has been kidnapped by the Joker and it's up to Batgirl and Robin to rescue him in this prequel to 2009's Arkham Asylum. Developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, the team behind Arkham Origins and something entirely new, the DLC is described as a "love letter to the original game that started this incredible franchise".
Taking place in a new area called the Seagate Amusement Park, the environment features a nautical theme sat upon an oil rig death-trap. According to the DLC's designer, Justin Vazquez, "We wanted to recreate the feeling of being trapped in a bizarre and unique environment playing a game of cat and mouse with the Joker."
"Hacking is really what separates her from the other characters. It’s a gameplay mechanic with which the player can create situations for Batgirl to really shine. Our intention was that Batgirl should be less powerful than Batman, but that Batgirl plus hacking could give her opportunities do things that not even Batman can pull off."
Batgirl: A Matter of Family will be available from July 14 for those of you with season passes and, for the rest of us, July 21 for $7. It'll be available on Playstation 4 and Xbox One but the PC version will be delayed until all problems are solved with the PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight.
