Did you notice a certain Bo Peep absent from Toy Story 3? Pixar's John Lasseter reveals it works beautifully for the upcoming Toy Story 4 as Woody and Buzz go on a search for the lost lady.
"As we were looking around we came up with this idea because Bo Peep was not in Toy Story 3," he explained, “and it actually worked beautifully into this. So Woody and Buzz Lightyear go out to find Bo Peep and bring her back, and it’s a very special and emotional love story. But it’s extremely funny too.”
“What we wanted to do was find a type of story that we had not done in a Toy Story before,” he added, “and really our goal is to create something really original, something that’s different from what you've seen before. In every sequel that Pixar does we try to do something that is very different from the original, but is as good in a different way."
A cowboy and a space man searching for a woman in charge of sheep? They've definitely got originality nailed. "I’ve been very inspired by my wife Nancy‘s story in her life before I met her,” continued Lasseter. “It’s an incredible story, and it’s been sort of a bit of an inspiration for this.”
Toy Story 4 releases in US cinemas June 16th, 2017 and in the UK July 14th, 2017.
