James Foley to Direct Back to Back Fifty Shades Sequels
Cracking the whip, James Foley will helm both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed in one intense sweaty block.
Thrusting ahead with both E.L. James’ follow-up tomes, the original which featured Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as the angst filled, stilted duo Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, earned more than $560 million worldwide and now, Foley will start work next year ready for Darker to arrive on February 10, 2017 and Freed to follow on Feb 9, 2018.
While that’s good news for fans, it’s even better news for author E.L. James, who, after exacted an iron will over the first film (much to the detriment of the film) has hired screenwriter Niall Leonard – who just so happens to be her husband. So they’ll be the complicated relationship between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele and the complicated relationship between E.L. James and James Foley once filming begins next year.
